Networking Conferences
Metalworking program instructors, career counselors, and advisory council members meet at biannual conferences to exchange ideas, discuss problems and solutions, and provide support and encouragement.
Advisory Councils
TMA works with area technology education programs to establish advisory councils of industry representatives, schools administrators and educators. Industry advisors can assist with curriculum and equipment recommendations.
Career Presentations & Plant Tours
TMA members and staff regularly visit area schools for individual career presentations and to participate in career fairs. TMA also coordinates student, parent, and teacher visits to member companies for a firsthand look at the workplace. Job shadowing opportunities and internship/employment referrals are also available.
Career Information
TMA compiles and distributes up-to-date information on labor market demands, educational requirements, and compensation. Videotapes about opportunities in manufacturing are also available on a no-fee lending basis to schools.
