TMA Welcomes New Education Director

TMA is pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick Osborne as Director of Education. Patrick comes to TMA from the American Supply Association (ASA) in Chicago where he worked for over five years as the Senior Director of Program Management. ASA members included wholesale distributors and manufacturers of plumbing, heating, cooling and piping equipment. Patrick was responsible for developing new training products, both in print and online, as well as training consulting and advising for member companies.

Prior to ASA, Patrick worked in educational and legal publishing for a number of years. After graduating from high school in Dublin, Ireland, Patrick completed an intensive two year state-run tool & die program. After emigrating from Ireland, he worked for a local mold making company as an apprentice mold maker. In addition to working on large die-cast molds, Patrick attended Triton College at night and completed courses in their apprentice program.

Patrick joins TMA in announcing the brand new TMA Education Catalog. This catalog is something we have been working on for several months and are proud to introduce to the members. The catalog will be used by TMA as a tool to communicate the many education programs we have available. In it you will find a wide assortment of BOTH online courses AND instructor-led courses with course descriptions and favorable member pricing. You’ll also see a series of “Roadmaps,” developed by the TMA Training & Education Committees, which suggest courses for training employees in six of the most popular roles common among TMA member companies. Work in the Education Department continues, as we are also improving the web signup process, online visibility and access to the education offerings. All of this because TMA members are experiencing a greater need for training their current and prospective employees.
