State Rep. Lisa Dugan (D-Kankakee) visited Triton Manufactur-ing in Monee September 19 to discuss the issues facing small to medium sized manufacturers in Illinois, such as health care coverage for their workers. Triton, a TMA member, employs nearly 100 workers who manufacture metal into parts for industries such as defense, aerospace and telecommunications.

"Triton would like to thank Representative Dugan for visiting our plant, for meeting with our workforce, and for discussing the issues facing manufacturing in this country, and especially in Illinois," Michael Edwards, President of Triton, said. "It is our perception that our government feels that manufacturing is not an important segment of our economy. We need incentives to purchase machinery and equipment, to train a world-class workforce, and to encourage intelligent people to enter the field of manufacturing. Again, we appreciate that Rep. Dugan reached out to us and is an advocate for manufacturers."
